Can't wait to be big
Let met tell you, being a kid, not an easy job. Grown-ups don't have to do anything if they don't want to. If you don't want to, you don't have to take out the trash. You can forget about it, until...until you want to stop forgetting about it.
And grown-ups can also do everything they want to. You can eat all the cookies you want...in your bed, and you don't even have to go brush your teeth.
And I have seen grown-ups who chew gum...with an open mouth...in public...with a girl.
You can comb your hair...any...way...you...want to.
I'm not sure if you know this, but you can sleep with the light on. You can eat everything, and I mean everything, with a spoon.
You know what else you can do when you're a big person? You can slurp your milkshake until it's really finished, have six, no, twenty puppies, go swimming right after lunch, run around in the rain, listen to music as loud as you want and ride your bicycle to anywhere.
And this might drive you mad, but you can go to bed as late as you want. So why I ask you, with tears in my eyes, should I eat these vegetables? Where are my freedoms? Don't I have any rights?
Mom: You eat them because they're good for you, taste delicious and you really love them.
Little boy: Yes, well, I still can't wait to be big.

Once his mother appears she is oblivious to his rantings.
